Bern, Switzerland – Swiss tuning haus Dahler Design & Technik has taken an old-school approach to upgrading BMW’s already manic M2 Coupé – an engine transplant.
The standard three-litre N55 straight six (272kW and 465Nm) has been ditched in favour of an M4-spec S55 twin-turbo six, rated by BMW at 317kW and 550Nm, further tweaked by Christoph Dahler to a howling 397kW at 7500rpm and 730Nm from 2900-4900rpm, thanks to a free-breathing, stainless-steel Dahler exhaust system and a remapped ECU.
That, says Dahler, is enough to launch the big-bang M2 to 100km/h in less than four seconds and on to a terminal velocity of 320km/h – and it’s not only street legal, it’s Euro 6-compliant.
To keep it all under control, the S55-powered M2 comes with a set of specially developed, individually adjustable Dahler dampers, and eight-piston Dahler brake callipers on enormous 400mm discs behind either 20 or 21 inch Dahler rims.
Apart from those rims, a discreet front splitter and a new multi-information display in the instrument panel, the Dahler M2 looks almost standard, although Dahler does offer a rear wing, and a number of trim upgrades, not seen on the demo car in these pictures.
